Diddy has been in the lab putting the final touches on his LP, “Money Making Mitch,” But that hasn’t stopped him from making some additions to the famed Hitmen production team in the form of “Yeezus” himself, Mr. Kanye West.
In case you’re not up on your Hip-Hop history, The Hitmen were the power house production team behind Bad Boy’s hit singles in the early to late 90’s including Puffy’s “No Way Out” album. The Hitmen’s roster included Love and Hip Hop’s Stevie J, Deric D-Dot Angelettie aka the Madd Rapper, producer/singer Mario Wynans and Chucky Thompson.
Kanye West is a genius when it comes to production. With Grammy Awards for Best Rap Album in 2006, 2008 and 2012 it only makes since that he teams with Diddy to make history. Even though Kanye recently told Paper magazine he’s “not even completely focused on his music,” this still seems like the perfect fit. Think about it, Kanye produced a few tracks for Mase’s Harlem World group before being signed by Dame Dash to Roc-A-Fella; and according to the Mad Rapper D-Dot, Kanye, “watched Chucky and Stevie and got to see it for himself and now he’s the new producer for the new generation, but he came from Bad Boy College and got that tutelage!” P. Diddy and the fam who you know do it better?
